Input Image Folders and Templates Input folders are used to control several aspects of the application. Firstly they identify the source image folder. They also define what templates are displayed. Lastly they define what output prints are available for ordering. Input folders can be selected in the main application window. You may choose to set up several different input folders for different types of jobs. When the operator selects the appropriate folder, the correct input images, templates and products will be available. This section of the configuration allows the operator to view, add, edit and delete layout templates, designate associated input image folders and specify an image archive folder. For more information see Input Folders Output Print Folders, Sizes and Naming You will need to define output print folders, what size they represent and give them a name. When these are associated with the input folders, the operator can "print" to them. For more details see Output Print Folders Allows the user to add, edit and delete the hot folders for completed orders to be sent to for printing. Use Chiizu Photo Printer or other printing software to pick up these output JPGs and print them. Create order csv: Instructs Picture Event to create a .csv (comma separated value) file which can be viewed in most spreadsheet software, whenever an image is output. The Change button allows the user to define where this file will be saved. Archive Orders: Instructs Picture Event to create an archive of completed images and the location of the archive. Additional Archive Folders: Allows additional locations for the archival of completed images to be added and deleted. Include source filenames in print filenames: This adds the source filename of the input image to the output filename so you can track which files were used in the order. Burn to Disc Settings for burning the order plus additional files you specify to disc for your customers. See Burning discs for more information. General settings Company Name/Studio Name: Users insert the name of the company/studio creating the images. Current Order ID: An initial order number can be inserted by the user. All subsequent order numbers will sequentially follow the inserted number. GST: You can display a goods and service tax within the order on the receipts, etc. Print Receipt: Instructs Picture Event to print a receipt whenever an image is printed. This will print to the Windows Default printer. Message: Allows custom text to be inserted on the receipt. Show prices on receipt: Shows prices on the printed receipt. If not enabled, receipts don't include the prices. Maximum number of copies: Designates the maximum number of order copies. For instance if you generated an order and wanted to print the entire order twice, the operator would select 2 copies. Allow Cart View Switching: Allows the operator to switch between the "print now" and "add to cart" mode using the right click main menu. Print Prices and Packages This is where you set up what products you will sell as well as what combinations of these products make up discounted packages. See Prints Prices and Packages for more detail. Use Print Order Cart: Allows the operator to add multiple prints into one order so they can be totaled up and sold as a package if one matches. Screen Layout Settings The application can support one or two monitors (screens). If you have a laptop with an external VGA plug or a desktop computer with two video outputs or cards, you can show the consumer a preview of the order photo, input photo or slideshow.
There is some additional information on setting up a 2nd monitor here: Multiple Monitors
Slideshow: You can display a slideshow on the 2nd monitor of any JPG files. Simply place them in a folder and selected it as the slideshow folder. After a period of inactivity, the slideshow will start rotating the images supplied.
Swap Monitors: This switches the main operator monitor with the 2nd screen. Allow Alt+Tab to switch Applications: The operator will be allowed access to other applications by pressing Alt+Tab on the keyboard when this option is selected. If you do not want the operator accessing the operating system, disable this function. Load new photo into open template: Instructs Picture Event to automatically place images into the active template as they are added to the input folder. They will also get displayed on the 2nd monitor if one is available.
