Input folders are the folders that you will copy or move the source photos into that you are taking at the event.
You can have multiple input folders to make it easy to associate various types of products with their correct templates. For instance, you may have 2 studios, one for snake experiences and one for koala experiences and you want to have different templates for each. To achieve this, you create two separate input folders on your hard drive, and copy the photos from each studio into the correct one.
The operator can then select the input folder to easily swap between the two different configurations.
Here's the Add/Edit Input Image Folder settings dialog box:
Each input folder is given a user friendly name.
You can select which controls display for the operator when this input folder is selected or even hide all the controls. If it's a greenscreen studio, you'll need to enable the transparency controls. The other controls are optional. Here's the controls as they are displayed to the operator:
Move and Zoom controls:
Transparency Controls:
Image controls (sharpness, brightness, etc)
You can hide all the controls if you wish. Image placement and zooming can be achieved with the mouse alone.
The input folder is displayed:
Click the Select... button to change the folder. Remember - this is where you will put the images from the camera using Photo File Workflow or similar.
Next the Associated Templates are displayed for this input folder.
You can add or delete template files as well as reorder them here.
Finally there's the Associated Output Print sizes list.
Here you can limit the prints that can be selected to be made when this input folder is selected.
Note that only print sizes that match aspect ratios within the templates will be displayed. For instance if you only had one template with a 3:4 aspect ratio, you might only see 4x6 and 6x8 print sizes here. 8x10 would not match and would not be displayed.
If you wanted 8x10 as well, you'd need to add an extra template to one of the PLT files with the correct aspect ratio 4:5. See the help files in Photo Layout for directions on how to create templates and PLT files.
