AutoRun / AutoPlay attempts to open up discs in Windows explorer when they are inserted and this can impact the burning process.
To disable it, follow these steps:
For Windows XP Professional:
Click your start button and select "Run..."
Then enter this into the run text box: gpedit.msc
Press OK.
Then Go to Computer Configuration, Administrative Templates, System.
Locate the entry for Turn off Autoplay and double click it.
Enable it for all drives.
This will stop Windows from opening up drives when discs are inserted.
For Windows Vista:
Click Start / Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, then AutoPlay
To turn AutoPlay off, clear the "Use AutoPlay for all media and devices" checkbox.
