Implementing Green Screen Transparency with RGB Comparison Once you have a template that is appropriate for a green screen application, obtain an image that has been taken in front of the green screen. We will refer to this image as the 'Target image'. Drag and drop the target image into the photo placeholder then click on the photo placeholder. This will bring up the 'Edit Image Properties' dialog window.
Point Samples
After selecting 'Use RGB for Transparency' as the Transparency Method, the dialog window should look similar to the diagram above. The RGB transparency method requires you to select Point Samples to compare the image to. There are two ways you can select a point sample. 1. Press the 'Add' button. Click on the 'Color Selector' press the Advanced button, and enter the Red, Green and Blue values of the color desired. While selecting a point sample in this manner is possible, it is recommended that you use method 2. 2. Press the 'Pick Color' button. The mouse cursor will turn into an eye dropper. Position the mouse over a green part of the target image and click the left mouse button. This will pick up the color underneath the eye dropper cursor and add this color to the Point Samples. This is the recommended way of selecting a point sample.
